A small luxury hotel in Mallorca

Son Mas is a small rural hotel at the heart of an ancient family estate of 50 acres, some 5 km from Porto Cristo. The 17th century buildings have been completely restored and provide modern comforts in a charmingly rural atmosphere. Of special note is the watch-tower which is a listed historic building.

All around the hotel, the landscape has hardly changed in centuries, with almond, olive, orange and carob trees in abundance.

The 16 spacious rooms all have a little lounge and a terrace or balcony, each room featuring an elegant mix of antique and modern furniture in its design. They all provide a safe, mini-bar, satellite TV, telephone, internet connection, air-conditioning, and just about anything else you might expect. All the rooms have an individual style in keeping with their traditional character. There is even the chance to sleep in the 17th century watch-tower.

Outside in the spacious garden is a large swimming pool, while there is another pool indoors, along with a jacuzzi, sauna and the possibility of a relaxing massage. Inside it is reminiscent of a premier health club. There is, of course, a restaurant and various lounges for winding-down after dinner.

So close to the coast, yet set back in the unspoilt countryside, Son Mas offers its guests a wide variety of activity. The villages and calas range from lively to almost deserted, so there is always somewhere to suit everyone's taste. And inland there is sightseeing for walkers, cyclists and motorists.

For disabled guests, there are wheelchair ramps and one specially adapted room. With most things on the level, this is an especially suitable hotel for those who are less nimble.

A buffet breakfast gives a good start to the day, while dinner is choice Mediterranean cuisine prepared for the most part with ingredients grown on the finca.

Vall d'Or, Costa de los Piños and Pula golf courses are all about 15km away.
Capdepera and Canyamel golf courses are about 25km away.

It's hard to decide what makes Son Mas so special. Is it the buildings and grounds and facilities? Or is it the location; so close to all the amenities of the coast and beaches, yet tucked back in the countryside away from the hustle-and-bustle? We'll leave you to decide.

If you cancel a confirmed reservation 2 days or less before your proposed arrival, a cancellation charge equivalent to the cost of one night per room booked may be charged to your credit card. Otherwise, there is no charge for cancellations, provided they are for genuine unavoidable reasons and the room/s can be re-booked.
