Hotel Sa Torre de Santa Eugenia is part of a large country estate that has been in the same family for many generations. It remains still a family business with all the members of the family dedicated to the hotel, the restaurant or farming of the lands around the hotel. The Lopez-Pinto family were in the vanguard of rural tourism when they restored the house in 1991, creating a lovely little country hotel with five fully-equipped guest apartments.
Each apartment provides comfortable accommodation for two people, with a living room, a bedroom, fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom and private terrace. They all have central heating, air-conditioning, television, and most importantly, views of the garden and the Tramuntana mountains.
All around Sa Torre are the 700 square metres of garden with many native trees and plants and a special herb garden. Around that again, the farm covers 45 hectares cultivating grape vines and cereals. Even the irrigation reservoir has been landscaped to maximise the beauty of the environments. The hotel is blessed with two swimming pools where guests may also relax or enjoy a meal or snack. There is a bar and towel service, and indoors there is also a reading lounge for guests.
Sa Torre is conveniently located for access to the city of Palma and the airport, yet is tucked away in an area where tourism has only lightly touched the landscape. It's a lovely place to relax or a great base for travelling around the island.
Restaurant:
The Celler restaurant is a hugely important part of Sa Torre. Located in the cellar of the house, three immense stone pillars support the vaulted ceiling at a height of nearly nine metres. Along the sides, ten huge traditional wine barrels are housed. The rustic splendour of the stone and wood blends well with finer decorative features to give a warm ambience in which to enjoy good food and fine wine. The restaurant and kitchen come under the charge of the two sons of the family, Pedro and Vitoriano, who produce a fixed-menu meal of great quality.Hover on a picture to pause the slideshow, click for a bigger photo
