Nestling in a beautiful, peaceful valley in the southwest corner of Mallorca you will find the charming village of S'Arracó, situated just a few minutes drive from the chic port of Andratx and ten minutes from the beautiful sandy beach of St. Elmo. Here is the family-owned Hotel L'Escaleta, a delightful, converted village schoolhouse, rich in history and style, with stunning views and comfortable accommodation. The island national park of Dragonera is only a short boat ride away.

All the bedrooms have been meticulously and painstakingly renovated with careful thought to include all modern conveniences but maintaining traditional style and charm. Different colours, fabrics and furniture have been utilised to create individuality and relaxing comfort. Each room has air conditioning, central heating, hair dryers, immaculate ensuite bathrooms and, of course, stunning views - an ever changing vista of glorious spring almond blossoms, olive groves and green hills. The garden is very private, offering pools of warm sunshine or areas of sun-dappled shade.

Walkers will find endless treks within easy reach of L'Escaleta and cyclists have the scope for tours around the whole island. Furthermore, there is a multitude of other activities available including golf, horse riding, climbing, paragliding and all manner of watersports. All these activities can be arranged for you, but if all that seems too much, just sit back and admire the spring valleys filled with fragrant almond blossoms, stroll through an eclectic Mallorquin fiestas or just get to know the friendly locals and Mallorca's timeless culture.

Restaurant:

Although L'Escaleta doesn't have a restaurant, dinners can be prepared by arrangement, served on the hotel's private terrace. Alternatively, sample the huge choice of restaurants in and around Andratx.

"At L’Escaleta we aim to create a home away from home. We only accommodate 10 guests at a time so you will never feel like one of the crowd, and our emphasis is on relaxation and personal service. We are situated in a typical Mallorquin village in one of the most beautiful areas of the island which is perfect for exploring- so if you want to do more than relax with a drink in the garden, the great outdoors awaits."

Water sports: Pick from yacht charter to a banana boat. Every sort of water sport can be found, just by picking the right section of coast to suit your desires. Everything is close-by.

Places to visit:
Mallorca is a small island so with a car, the whole island is within easy range.
Palma: a beautiful and sophisticated city with top-quality shops, restaurants and bars. Visit the cathedral, the old quarter and the marina.
Deya: Drive along the north-west coast for a rugged, mountainous alternative to the nearby "calas".
Formentor: More rugged terrain. Drive to the most northern tip of the island.
Sample any of the beaches, anywhere around the coastline of the island.

"Step Into Spring" Walking Breaks In spring 2008 L'Escaleta are once again organising their popular Walking Breaks. Prices of a 4 day break start from € 375 per person (based on two sharing). 27 Feb - 2 Mar: Availability 12 - 16 Mar: Fully booked 9 - 13 Apr: Availability 7 - 11 May: Availability Contact us for more information. Cancellations:

Cancellation must be received in writing (fax or e-mail) no later than 28 days before arrival. Cancellations with less than 28 days notice result in loss of deposit, but this can be credited against a future stay.
