Can Planells is a small country hotel situated in the north of the island of Ibiza, in an area untouched by the excesses of the 21st century, nor even of the 20th. It is a typical Ibizan farmhouse, now wholly dedicated to the comfort of its visitors. The views from the hotel look out over a traditional Mediterranean rural landscape of almond, locust and fig trees with the rich greens of pine woods and meadows, and the warm red tones of the soil. In the distance, the sea and the sugar-cube jumble of Ibiza Town provide the perfect backdrop.

Immediately around Can Planells, there is a delightful garden full of palms, oleander, bougainvillea and camomile. There are wide terraces around the pool where guests can happily relax and sip their choice of refreshment. The finca runs to about 40 very productive acres in total, so breakfast at Ca'n Planells will include fruits and juice from their own orchard of orange and lemon trees.

This is a perfect place for rest and relaxation in an ambience of utter tranquility. There are 2 double rooms, 1 double superior room, 2 junior suites and 3 superior suites available. All rooms are equipped with telephone, air-conditioning, heating (for the rare occasions when it might be necessary), minibar, satellite TV and a fully-fitted bathroom. Junior suites and superior suites have hydromassage baths and superior suites also have a private balcony or terrace.

Close to the unspoilt north coast of Ibiza, there are numerous small coves waiting for Can Planells' guests. But being such a small island, every corner is within easy reach for those who want to do a little exploring.

Restaurant:

Normally only breakfast is served at Can Planells; a breakfast that includes the fresh fruits of the hotel's own trees. If requested, the hotel can also provide simple light snacks. The owners will be happy to suggest nearby restaurants and make advance bookings.

Places to visit:
Sant Miguel de Balansat (about 1km away). Wander round the village and see the majestic fortified church that dominates the area.
Investigate other villages like Sant Joan, Sant Llorenç, Santa Gertrudis, Sant Mateo and Santa Agnès.
Ibiza Town.
If you have a car, drive down around the south-west coastline too.
