La Torre del Canonigo is a charming little hotel in Ibiza Town, close to the cathedral in one of the quietest parts of Dalt Vila (Ibiza town). From the outside, the hotel looks like a huge stone tower that has been there for centuries; and that’s exactly what it is. It’s a part of the 14th century old town, and has foundations that date right back to the ancient Roman acropolis which once occupied the site.

The bluff exterior gives way to a cool and elegant interior of stone walls and vaulted ceilings, decorated with a light touch that makes the best of the amazing masonry while never being anything less than comfortable and welcoming. This very special location gives wonderful views over the old town, the modern city and the glistening Mediterranean, changing with every nuance of the light.

There are four rooms and four suites, each very different and individual, and very spacious, with warm muted colours and textures of stone, plaster and fabric. All the rooms have air-conditioning (little-used, within the thick stone walls), flat screen TV, DVD player, jacuzzi bath, etc. Three of the standard rooms are on the front of the building two with balconies) and the fourth has a small window looking down to the harbour. The two superior rooms both have balconies and views over the town and the harbour. Both of the suites have terraces with a jacuzzi, plus views of the town and the harbour.

The extraordinary building is only half of what makes this hotel special though; the other half is the friendly service of the owners and staff, who are dedicated to making their guest's stay truly memorable.

The position of La Torre del Canonigo gives the convenience of the city, close to bars, restaurants and shops, yet it is tucked away in the traffic-free tranquillity of the old town with the airport only 15 minutes away and some of the best beaches on Ibiza nearby.

There is no restaurant in La Torre Del Canonigo so you have every opportunity to sample the restaurants and bars of Ibiza Town. An a la carte breakfast is available in your room, or served in the bar or breakfast room.

Ibiza Town: the historic old quarter is right on your doorstep, with many interesting old buildings, museums, and the cathedral. The main area for shops and nightlife is about 10 minutes away on foot.

Nothing is very far away on Ibiza. Explore Sant Miguel de Balansat, Sant Joan, Sant Llorenç, Santa Gertrudis, Sant Mateo and Santa Agnès. Or just drive around the coast roads and stop wherever takes your fancy.

What We Say:

The outside of the hotel doesn't look too exciting, but inside you will find a jewel. Not just the building and the furnishing, but the people too.

Car access is restricted in the old town, so it is best to arrive by taxi or use the hotel's shuttle service. If you have a hire car, you will need a special ticket from the hotel reception to enter the restricted area.

Cancellations:

Cancellation must be received in writing (fax or e-mail) no later than 1 month before arrival. Cancellations with less than a months notice will be charged half the deposit, and cancellations with less than a weeks notice will be charged the full deposit.
